CD-LOG
by
T.R. Williams
The program for people with lots of CD's.
Written using Amos Pro and Dpaint 4.
Introduction
This program is as the title suggests designed to keep
track of your CD collection. If you're like me and have a lot of CD's
it could be just your cup of tea.
Specifications
The program will work on an A500 or A1200. I can't tell you
if it will work on anything else as I haven't got an A4000.
It will let you store approximately 500 CD's. You can also store
200 band names. I think this is quite big enough. Although in a
future release I may think of increasing this, depending on my
requirements.
Getting Started
The program is entirely menu driven. Use the mouse to drag
down the option that you want to use from the menu bar. There are also
hotkeys you can use, which I find are sometimes quicker than the
menu. Also if you have files in the screen, you can just point and
click at the file you wish to see the CD's of.
Here is a list of the menu options:-
FILE
NEW...................This clears the display ready for input.
LOAD [l]..............This will bring up a load requester.
SAVE AS [s]...........This will bring up a save requester.
SAVE [Am s]...........This will save the current file without a requester.
QUIT [Esc]............This will make your computer blow up (eh not really).
BAND NAMES
ADD BAND [a]..........This will allow you to enter a band name.
CHANGE BAND [c].......This will allow you to change a band name.
DELETE BAND...........This will allow you to delete a band.
CD NAMES
ADD CD [Am a].........This will let you add a CD title.
Of course if you haven't clicked on a band name
this option will not work.
PRINTER
PRINT WHOLE LIST......This will print band names and CD titles.
PRINT SELECTED BAND...This will print just the band that you have
selected, plus the CD titles for that band.
SAVE FILE IN ASCI
FORMAT................This will save the whole list in a text document
for use in any text viewer or wordprocessor.
I very often use this option to print out my
list very small using Final Writer.
In my opinion you could probably just fire up the program
without reading these instructions, it's so easy to use. I have also
included a demonstration datafile so that you can load it in to get
used to all the functions of the program.
Please! I am open to suggestions. If you have any ideas please
send me a letter.
